### Category

### Definition

The language pattern that steals Road 2 vocabulary to describe Road 1 practices. Hospitality used to mean service efficiency. Guest used to mean customer. Culture used to mean compliance. The theft keeps operators on Road 1 while believing they are on Road 2. Layer: language-level. Formerly the Vocabulary Theft.

### Explanation

This lie operates entirely at the level of vocabulary, which makes it uniquely hard to catch from inside -- an operator using the word "hospitality" every day, sincerely, can still be running pure Road 1 mechanics underneath, because the word itself has been hollowed out and repointed at a Road 1 meaning without anyone consciously deciding to redefine it.

The three examples given form an escalating pattern: hospitality collapsed to service efficiency, Guest collapsed to customer, culture collapsed to compliance. Each substitution trades a relational meaning for a transactional one while keeping the original, warmer word intact as camouflage. That's precisely why this lie is dangerous in a way that an operator openly admitting "I run Road 1" is not -- the open admission at least allows the operator to see their own position clearly, while the vocabulary theft keeps the operator believing they're on Road 2 even as every actual mechanic underneath the words stays firmly on Road 1.
