### Definition

The small, unplanned daily interactions -- a tone, a glance, a pause before responding -- through which the operator actually teaches the cast what culture is true in the building, regardless of the stated intention.

### Explanation

Culture decks and mission statements describe the culture an operator wants. [Micro-Moments] are where the cast learns the culture that's actually operating. A stated value of "we treat every cast member with respect" gets contradicted or confirmed a hundred times a shift in the small stuff -- whether the operator makes eye contact when a cast member is talking, whether a mistake gets a sigh or a calm correction, whether the operator's tone changes when a Guest is watching versus when one isn't.

The reason [Micro-Moments] carry more instructional weight than formal training is that they're unguarded. A cast member can tell the difference between a scripted, performed value and a genuine one by watching what the operator does in the moments too small and too fast to be staged. Nobody rehearses their reaction to a dropped tray or a short-tempered Guest -- which is exactly why those reactions are the most honest data the cast gets about what's actually valued in the building.

This has a direct operating consequence: an operator who wants to change the culture cannot do it primarily through announcements, meetings, or posted values. Those set intention. The actual change happens in the accumulation of [Micro-Moments] that either confirm or contradict the stated intention, shift after shift, until the cast trusts the pattern over the poster.
