# Hacksterism

### Definition

The worldview that operations problems have shortcuts and that the upstream repair cost is optional. Transactional means deployed against a relational goal. The belief structure underneath every consultancy-as-volume-pipeline practice in the hospitality and restaurant industry: that the work of building a relational operation can be replaced by a sequence of tactics packaged for sale.

Coinage: hack + huckster + ism. Auditory diagnostic embedded in the word itself -- the operator hears "huckster" before the definition lands. Practitioners are hacksterists.

### Explanation

Not the content. The prior conviction that the content's promise is real.

An operator practicing [Hacksterism] looks for tactics on a leaky base instead of fixing the base. Buys downstream levers. Resists upstream repair as too slow, too costly, too abstract. The receptivity to hack-stream content comes from a worldview that assumes the operation's problems have shortcuts -- before any specific tactic is offered.

Not a character claim about any individual consultant. Names a worldview, not a person. Same logic as [Static Decline] naming the consequence, not the operator who lands in it.
